Let’s talk about paint brushes and brushes for a minute. They are not all the same. Now, I know we’re on a budget here, but you don’t want to be parting with tiny screws and brushes.
When painting cabinets, you’ll want to use a small paint roller and a stiff brush. The yarn of choice is 4″ premium single coat with plain skins with 1/4″ nap (white woven). And here’s a tip, straight from Paint Man Mike: Get your wheels clean and dry before rolling on the paint. The paint is liquid, so it should really soak into the paint. Now about the cut brush: Choose a brush with an edge larger than 2″ wide. 1 1/2″ preferred. I went with the Wooster Pro 1 1/2″ angle grinder. And guess what? I have another quote from painter Mike (he’s just a wealth of painting knowledge, right?).
Brush Tip: Choose a brush with a copper wire instead of silver. Silver-coated brushes have a box underneath the silver, and the box dissolves the paint and water, then ignites. Copper-plated brushes have plastic under the copper, which won’t come off when wet, so they last longer, last longer and are very clean.
