Especially as you get older, these cycles are very important. The point is: We all tend to take this for granted.

Behavioral Interview Questions To Ask Candidates

Between these 84 questions, you can focus on what you do now – and be prepared for your interview.

Now for the content of this post, let’s get into all the great stuff.

This topic is so important that we will spend most of our time here. I also made an updated video about this:

Most people know that your answer to the “Tell Me About Yourself” question affects your entire conversation. But what most people miss is that a bad answer can block you.

Consulting Behavioral Interview Questions To Prepare With

You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Most hiring managers make up their minds in the first three minutes. When I posted more than 50 PM myself, I didn’t choose to reject someone because of this question, but I turned many away.

This is a very powerful way to answer this question. The trick is to ask yourself: What are my weaknesses?

Interviewers are looking at your resume while you are answering this question or just looking at it. They will make some assumptions about the weaknesses of your vote. You need to address what they see as weaknesses and highlight your strengths.

The quickest and most straightforward way to do this is to go back to the job description. Yes, most of those things are nonsense. But it is still the best source of information for you at work.

Interview Questions For A Professional It Manager

This position requires 6+ years of experience in consumer development. But the candidate was a consultant before the MBA, so the growth of the buyer is about 4.5 years. So this is the first weakness.

The business also focuses on new platforms such as Apple Vision Pro, but PM has no experience with this. So this is another weakness.

Finally, business is in Tinder, in the dating community. The interview will be where you will be the most suitable dating candidate. The candidate was not present at the meeting.

The solution we come up with must overcome all three of these weaknesses. And it should reflect the strengths of the candidate:

Top Scrum Master Interview Questions That You Should Know

Since graduating with an MBA from Duke in 2019, I have been a PM at Wayfair and Microsoft. At Microsoft, I started a group Copilot, which I had the opportunity to present on stage. I have also worked in teams on a variety of devices, including MacOS, Windows, Chromepad, Android, and iOS. Although I was a PM in consumer goods for 4.5 years, before my MBA, I actually worked at Deloitte as a PM consultant for various consumer goods. So my total time as Prime Minister is about 7 years. One of my clients at Deloitte was actually a competitor at Tinder, a large public company.

That way you influence the flow of the whole conversation. You have raised topics that the interviewer may consider weak in relation to your candidacy.

The biggest mistake many make is letting these weaknesses linger in the interviewer’s mind. Therefore, all subsequent questions of the interviewer are related to those weaknesses. On the other hand, this design allows you to lead with power.

How To Use The Star Interview Method For Your Benefit

People who get jobs seem happy with the job they are applying for. Let’s go back to our example. This position at Tinder is about things like working on Vision Pro and AI. You have to include your interest in it.

With my experience working on Teams Copilot using GPT-4 at Microsoft, I am very happy with this project. I believe that AI will be at the forefront of all next-generation products. Even though things are going well at Microsoft, I was so excited when I saw this job posting that I had to apply.

The key to answering these questions is realizing that people think about work in a linear fashion. Even though your work has been difficult, help the interviewer understand the real lines that have gotten you here.

Top 5 Behavioral Interview Questions To Know

Whatever you offer, you should know more about it if they ask you a lot of questions. Learn more before negotiating.

This is why I reject applicants. They just take a lot of time to ask questions. Try asking this question before the interview and go on for two minutes.

Whether you track time or repeat the years, try to keep your answer consistent. The best way to do this is to write down your answer to this question before starting any interview. Then record yourself on the video and prepare your answer

But this time – let’s have a new example. Let’s say I’m a student (mostly) and I’m interested in the APM program on Spotify. My weakness is that I don’t have PM experience, I didn’t work in music and I went to high school.

Common Internship Interview Questions (with Example Answers)

I am very happy with this feature in Spotify. I’ve been using Spotify for over 10 years. I always have ideas about how it could be better. This is because I worked several college jobs in the same place. One of my favorites was Make Music Using Artificial Intelligence. This was a website I published that uses the latest APIs from Meta. With my CS background, I was able to develop this program myself. And I scaled it up to 5,000 users. The experiences I’ve had make me very happy with Spotify’s APM app. I want to spend my career in sales management. After doing my technical training at Amazon, I love working with PMs. This made me realize that this is the work I want to do in my career. It’s the intersection of my art, music and architecture.
