Best Tiny House Floor Plans For Couples – We recently completed this build for a wonderful young couple living in Great Falls, Montana. They are both in the military and want a house they can take with them wherever they get their position. Thus they realized that a small house would be the means to greater financial stability! They are very interested in two designs from other tiny house enthusiasts, Shedsistence and Tiny House Lab. They want to not only combine these two designs, but also customize a few touches to suit their needs. So if the look is similar to these two houses, now you know!
This design has different variations compared to the other two. The dough is a combination of each. We started with 8ft-4″ x 24ft shorts, adding a 30 degree nose similar to the Tiny House Lab, but then applied the Shedsistence longitudinal asymmetric gable, probably easier to think of as a front-to-back shed with a shed . smaller beaver tail and tail at the back. This little guy is built using SIP, which not only makes a lot of assumptions from crazy angles, but will also ensure that the house is easy to heat and cool no matter where the couple is located. We have installed Lunos E2 heat exchangers to provide constant fresh, healthy air while extracting thermal energy. All plumbing is fully accessible in a heated environment. All wiring is done in surface mounted conduits. They like the industrial look, but they also want a complete wiring harness if something goes wrong or they need to do additional work, since changing the wiring in a SIP channel can be very difficult once the wall is finished.
The kitchen is equipped with dark blue clay faucets, 24-inch gas range with modern hoods, washer/dryer combo, and underneath refrigerator. Behind the kitchen is access to a bathroom with a generous 42-inch shower screen, a full-size composting toilet, and a wooden barn-mounted sink. There is a wall separating the bathroom from the closet at the front of the tuk tuk. The cage is accessed through a separate exterior door.
In front of the house there is a living room where you have to go down two steps from the main platform to enter. At this point I should point out that this house is approximately 98% built. They had a budget of $67,000 and asked us to finish as much work as we could within that budget, so you’ll notice in the photos that we left out some simple tasks, like finishing some corners. Doors/folders for some of the living room cabinets and couch cushions for the owner to finish.
The stairs (double escalators as closets and display cases) are at the same level as the platform, so less than two stairs are needed to access the basement. There is a spacious room for a queen size mattress, a large room, and lots of light – partly from headlights!

As already mentioned, the project costs 67 thousand dollars, as shown with some details that are not yet complete. So far we have some questions about whether we can build a tiny house based on Shedsistence’s design. The answer is yes! As this design is different from the original version, we paint it from scratch and we can also do it entirely for you. If you like Shedsistence’s design as is and want us to build it, we ask that you purchase a project from them before coming to us. Out of respect for the intellectual property of the original creator, we suggest that you do this for any construction other than the RMTH design and that a documented sales plan is available for that specific design. Some great people in Leadville, CO hired us to build this 10×24 frame. They want us to help them with the design. Install structural insulation panels casing, install Tyvek roof, windows and entry doors before opening to Leadville. Homes must have a stamped engineering drawing showing they can withstand Leadville’s snow load, as well as good documentation on short clip bonding and SIP assembly. We are happy and can fulfill our duties! Since this is just a frame build, we don’t really get many good photos, but we posted this project not only to let people know that we are able to bomb even with a 10′ wide SIP build. A semi-retired real estate expert from Fairplay hired us to build her dream cottage! Like other clients this summer, she was fascinated by the oval shape, but what made this house stand out was the gorgeous corten steel (called rust cold rolled). Another special point that most visitors notice when they see the house for the first time is how big the bathroom is! While the bathroom doesn’t take up much space, it is tall and well ventilated as we brought the walls up to the ceiling, shed the roof, and included a window with a tall inscription. It has a nice neo-angle shower, a simple toilet and a cabinet with a medicine cabinet above it. There is a storage compartment at the rear of the bathroom and between the neck of the tuk tuk, which is equipped with an upgraded Navien tank water heater and storage space for less frequently used items, as the space is only accessible through the hatch. The kitchen is equipped with a walk-in closet and includes a spacious 24″ propane cabinet, microwave/vent combo, 10 cu. ft. refrigerator, single corner cooktop with a nice view. The counter, open to the living room with a spacious folding dining table, some of the shelves above the clergy bring in plenty of light, and all walls and ceilings are finished in Colorado beetle.
The master bedroom is situated on the neck with a spacious space for 6 people tall to stand. It is entered in a few steps.
