Pre Built Tiny House Sheds For Sale – In August 2017, we kept up with the Joneses. We had a new car and a house in Cummings, Georgia, and we lived life to the fullest. Then we had our son, and after a while our air conditioner broke and we couldn’t fix it. So, we borrowed money from my husband Nick’s parents. We sent them back, but it was a really cool experience for us. We realized that something had to change.
Nick started watching videos of financial guru Dave Ramsey. He started working for a Fortune 500 company and driving for Uber and Lyft. We did everything we could to make money. Nick then asked how long it would take to get out of debt and build our dream home, which was our ultimate goal.

It will take two years to pay off our $82,000 debt, but we need to build up our savings.

Nick talked about being small and living in a tiny house, but we had a house and I was the planner. I had a feeling we couldn’t go back. So I didn’t want to be small, especially when our son was small!
Then, on my birthday in September 2019, we went camping and saw campers getting paid to camp and look after the grounds. We thought we could do it. We came home and said: let’s sell the house.
So we put him on the list and a week later he was signed. It sold in 2018 for $275,000. We bought it at the end of the recession and did a good portion of it as we renovated it ourselves. With the money from the sale of the house, we paid off all our debts and bought a camper van with cash. Then we found eight acres nearby for $40,000, which we also paid in cash. We had planned to build our dream home on that lot, but the county we live in won’t allow us to live in an RV for long. You must have a permanent structure to provide a septic system and electricity. That’s when we went to Home Depot and saw a two-story barn that they were selling. We built our own little house in this palace.
Before talking to them, we had to design what the barn would look like, because it’s a barn and they’re not designed to house full-time drinkers! We paid a little extra for the details like the second story deck and siding on the outside of the house, but the shed manufacturers came and built a shed on our property and built the walls and roof, and then I did the same. Nick didn’t want to because he was too tall.
Custom Outdoor Storage Shed And Structures
We did everything else ourselves. Nick is our numbers guy, so he drew everything to scale and showed us how big our kitchen and other rooms would be. In addition to installing the septic system, we outsourced the electrical, plumbing, flooring, walls, and painting, and purchased and installed the cabinets and countertops ourselves.
The Tiny House Barn is two stories tall and has a total of 860 square feet. We put the bathroom under the stairs, so it’s one bedroom, one and a half bathrooms. There was a full kitchen with everything we needed, a large bathroom, and an upstairs bedroom with a closet.
The goal of the mansion is to live there for a few years, build our dream home on the property, and then the mansion will be a suite for our families.
With improvements, the barn cost about $27,000, but all in all, it took about $60,000 to complete our little house. We are very happy. Now you can’t build a tiny house for $60,000.

We have lived in the camper van for about 14 months and it has been well restored since when we sold our first house we sold all the furniture including everything. So we entered the camp with the clothes we had brought and each other. Our son was a year old when we camped, so his stuff took up more space than he did.

The least you could be was a freeing existence. Camper is a reset button, a complete release from all the pressures we’ve had for so long.
Kanga Room Systems
We finished building the tiny house barn in February 2020, right before the pandemic, so it was a good time to move out of the camper and into something bigger. But even the land was very limited as this palace was built on an area of 8 acres.
Then, in early 2021, the housing market went crazy and we saw people selling their homes for crazy amounts of money. We wanted to get out of debt, we had a mansion and land, but we still didn’t have the large amount of money needed for a loan to build our dream house.
We thought it would take us four or five years to pay off this debt, and by then we would be living in a small one-room shed with our three-year-old son. We didn’t want to live there for another five years, he stayed in the same room with his parents.
That’s why we decided to put the mansion up for sale. Some people liked the privacy of the land, while others liked the thinness of the house. Some people are attracted to the idea of living in a tiny house and building it later. It sold in April 2021, a year after we moved in, for about $275,000. It has since been resold for $312,000.
Converting A Shed Into Tiny House: Save Money
We did well enough in the sale that we started building our dream home on the 5 acres we bought in the same county. This construction started in June 2021 and took about eight months. The house is beautiful, it is our dream house.

The wrap around porch, the dining room where we live has a double sided fireplace and the whole house is open and airy. We have three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, so it’s not huge, but after living so small for four years, it feels big!
It’s just the three of us, we don’t need a big place. We have a great place to build a basement, but the builder said we don’t need one. It means a lot. We wanted to live in a camper and a tiny barn, so even though it was a dream home, we wanted to keep it practical.
Shed Homes (your Complete Guide)
I’m 34 in September and Nick is 34 now. The next important thing is the house payment. The construction of the land and property cost approximately $435,000, a portion of which we borrowed. We try to make our mortgage payments twice a month so we pay it off in 15 years or less.
There are people who don’t own a home, are paying after retirement, or can’t retire and still have a mortgage, which puts our situation into perspective. It is very humbling. It’s good to know that the house will be paid off at age 50.
Nick wants to retire at 55, and when he does, he says he always wants to go to Home Depot and be a door greeter, so it’s funny how life is going back to Home Depot!
