The 8ft high bar under the accordion windows is where we spend a lot of time looking out, eating, socializing and working. This was the only thing in the small house that could not find a solution. Almost all the small home sofas we have seen before are usually made for storage first and comfort second. we managed to find this sofa on the world market. can be folded into a double bed and is very comfortable as a small sofa. the window behind it was actually supposed to be a foot shorter but there was a mistake in the order and we got this much taller window and we’re glad we did!
In Tiny House you have to create as many different objectives as possible. Shelley had the brilliant idea to make a barn door and build a ladder on top of it. it’s something very simple and it works very well. We’re surprised we don’t see it more often. The veneer is made from recycled Stikwood wood.

At 40 square feet, it’s not too small for a bathroom. The corner glass shower has a 40″ pan and the glass feels wide open. The dresser on the left is 17″ wide and provides plenty of room for our needs. on the right, you’ll see a LG ventless washer/dryer combo and a Seperatt Villa 9200 Composting toilet.
The size of the sink worked well, although it is smaller than usual. The mirror will soon be replaced by a medicine cabinet model that can use the outlet directly behind it.
We want a very spacious bathroom in our small house. many small homes also consider showers and bathrooms an afterthought, not us… we always think of them!

We knew we had to ditch the dishwasher and we love our cups, so we knew we needed a place to store a lot of dirty cups, hence the double sink!
We wanted open shelves for our cups and plates so the kitchen didn’t feel closed off. Since this is version 1, you can see how it is set up. We will then disassemble these shelves and mix everything better ?

The gas pipes that make up this chandelier give it the industrial look we love, and the warm glow from the Edison bulbs helps bring the room to life. We love these bulbs, but they’re total energy hogs, and since everything in this tiny house is so efficient, we’ll soon have a replacement that’s just as great.
We needed hanging space for most of our clothes, so we hung a water pipe from the ceiling as closet space. it was 66″ long and Shelley had 36″ and I had the rest. We also shrunk the dressing table down to fit under the window and Shelley was more comfortable putting on her makeup while watching The Gilmores.
Believe it or not, this is the same amount of hanging space we had in our old 1,300 square foot house.
At first glance, you will notice that the storage space is built into the loft around the King size bed. The result is a clean and tidy space that holds enough clothes for two chests of drawers. The storage space is about 8″ deep, so the primary loft has a much shorter ceiling space than the secondary loft. This is by no means a compromise as the 12 foot deep master loft is still large!
