I remember playing snooker once with a friend of mine in a club that had double glazed windows. The set closest to us is one large window, and behind it are three regular sized windows.
I was rolling the shot when I heard a deep “Boing!” from behind me. I turned to see my friend rubbing his forehead. I asked what was going on, he pointed to the window. I thought something was going on outside, so I went to look through the window. Boom! I also did not see the window closest to the forehead-shattering consequences.
I’d like to say we don’t do it anymore, but I can’t. I would like to say that we have not been warned by the owner that this sometimes happens, but I can’t.
When working on a project, I have described some pitfalls so, only to see the client walk right into them. We learn from the experiences of others, but often we have to experience ourselves before we can learn.
