This beast reaches a height of 38 ft (11 m), offering just 340 sq ft (31 sq m) of floor space. The extra volume makes a difference and makes the house look bigger inside. Available rooms include a large kitchen, living room and bathroom with tub/shower.
The second bedroom is on the ground floor and the second bedroom is upstairs, which is rare in many small houses.

The Tiny Giant by Utah’s Alpine Tiny Homes is known for its impressive selection. They measure 39 feet (11 m)-long and are lightly clad in shou sugi ban siding, an ancient Japanese technique of burning wood to preserve it.
Inside, there is a total of 390 sq ft (36 sq m). Inside is a living room with a small home office and entertainment area, including a kitchen. Surprisingly, there is only one room but it is huge and it is 17 feet (5 m) long. The bathroom is also pleasant and interesting, with a bathtub made from a horse barrel.
A solar power system allows the Tiny Giant to run off the grid and it also has water tanks for fresh, gray and black water. The house was recently sold to another family for $70,000.
The Vintage XL from Wisconsin-based company Escape is the smallest of our picks and is “30 feet” (9 m) long. However, her smart design offers a total of 355 sq ft (32 sq m) of space and sleeps eight people.

Featuring a stylish cabin, the Vintage XL’s interior design focuses on a large open-plan living room with a sofa that pulls out into a double bed. A folding table and kitchen with a large sink, multi-cooker and refrigerator cater for dinner, and the bathroom also has a tub and shower.
The Vintage XL bedroom is upstairs and has a queen size bed with storage underneath. The large upstairs bedroom is accessed by a ladder and can be used as a bedroom or storage space, but optionally the upstairs bedroom can be converted into a further bedroom.
Of course, eight people living in a tiny house doesn’t always sound like fun, but it’s an interesting design and very useful for family vacations and the like.
Vancouver-based Mint Tiny Houses used steel instead of the familiar wood for this eponymous tiny house, reducing the weight of the frame by 30 percent, allowing the company to build a much larger home that’s still easy to tow.
Tiny Heirloom’s Larger Luxury Tiny House On Wheels
The small building is 32 ft (9.7 m)-tall and is clad in Canadian black cedar and topped with a sloping metal roof. Inside, there is a spacious 326 sq ft (30 sq m) of space, divided between a kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom and storage/bedroom.
Its finish looks great and it’s nice and light inside, with an open design that makes it look bigger than it is. The model’s owner also opted for an RV-style electric hookup, and the price of the tiny home comes to $59,400.
The Red Mountain 34′ Tiny House by Colorado Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses, 34 x 8 ft (10.3 x 2.4 m). It is covered with rusty tin, wood clapboard and ribs, and cedar planks, giving it the look of an old barn.
Inside, the house measures 410 square feet (38 square meters) and looks very elegant. There is also a small office, a living room and a dining area with a folding table. The large kitchen has plenty of storage space and leads to a bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower.

Over the years, tiny houses have evolved beyond their humble DIY origins, with some designers pushing the boundaries of the minimalist movement to create larger, more stylish homes like classic cabins on wheels. What went into the smallest house in 2017 is very different from what we see now in the big one. The largest example we’ve seen before is 38 ft (11 m) long, with the 30-ft (9.1-m) Vintage XL also the largest. These newest tiny houses we’re highlighting are 40 feet (12.9 m) tall.
One limitation is that each is difficult to tow and requires a permit to travel on public roads in North America. Of course, these items must be placed on the ground and, if moved frequently, blur the already thin line between tiny house and trailer. Taking advantage of this extra space, however, allows tiny house builders to add luxury features, large rooms, and large appliances not possible in a tiny home.
