Yellow And Blue Living Room Decor – Have longer days, right? I love the coziness of autumn and winter, but nothing beats the fresh, crisp air of spring. There’s nothing like the relaxing feeling of the warmer months, and because spring symbolizes newness and growth, it’s always a meaningful time of year. I like to bring a fresh feel to my home with my spring decor, and even though our home has a very casual style, it’s nice to reinforce that feeling with a more relaxed style around our home. I’m so excited to join an amazing group of very talented bloggers as we all open up our homes to show off our spring decor for the Spring has Sprung Blog Tour. I want to extend one

Yellow And Blue Living Room Decor
We start today in our newly created hall, and if you’re new, you haven’t seen the transformation yet! You might want to check out the above (here) to get an idea of how different it feels.

Once you see this updated space, you’ll notice that the decor hasn’t really changed. I just added a blue and white ginger jar filled with some fresh hydrangeas.
I think they are some of my absolute favorite flowers and I can’t wait for the snow to melt (yes, still)
Here) and outside the trees and flowers bloom. We still have a few months before that happens here.
Because now I live vicariously inside our house and wish it was just as warm outside 😉

In our dining room, which is off the entryway, I kept it simple with a few fake and dried flowers next to my blue and white ginger jar and vases.
I always use blue all year round in our home, it has become a permanent part of my interior in recent years and because it is neutral and goes with everything, it is a really easy color to work with.
I love faux flowers and have no problem wearing them all year round! I have my faux hydrangeas, apple blossoms and dried baby’s breath to brighten up this room. The front of our house faces south and I love the sunny, clear afternoons here.
So in the living room I brought in my vibrant yellows to play with the blues and the color palette is cheerful, bright and just feels so good and uplifting.

First I want to talk about my decorative pillows from Tonic Living. I have been collecting pillows from them for over a year now and I can tell you that they are my favorite source every season. You’ll notice that I’ve had the same ones all year round and just added or subtracted different ones to the mix each season.
The vibrant palette I chose this spring – it reinforces the cheerful, warm feel I’m going for. Keep scrolling to click and shop these beauties a little further down. All are still available except the yellow one I used in our bedroom last fall (check it out here), but you’ll find a similar, gorgeous one a little lower down.
You may remember seeing the other pillows; I shared a sneak peek a while ago in my spring inspiration post. You can see it here.
Of abuse here! The tailoring of the stitching is beautiful and the fabrics are always on trend.

I picked up the yellow pillow with some simple and elegant yellow tulips and roses, as well as a few yellow hardcover design books on the open shelves. I love the combination of yellow and blue and the roses are so pretty in my ginger jar.
I admit I cheated: I had to use two different bushes because I photographed our house on two different days… I bought new ones for the second day since it was the following week. As much as I love the fresh flowers, it hurts me when they die – they just don’t last long enough!
Can you see the difference below? They are much more golden, but just as beautiful. If you saw our new navy blue and white spring bedding that I shared last week, you’ll notice the first bunch of roses there too! You can read that message here.

The last room I share today is the kitchen, and here I decided to create a garden feel, with lots of vases and flowers – mostly fake with a touch of fresh.
Our kitchen has a relaxed elegance, is simple, and I like to layer dishes and cake stands for both presentation and functionality.
I usually have the same things on this built-in shelf and I’ll rotate a few things here and there. It’s a nice addition we added a few years ago and it’s a great place to showcase my favorite pieces. Right now I have a lot of them here!
I love having bowls full of tomatoes (my favorite snack), onions and garlic on hand for cooking. My apothecary jars have been here for years too. It kind of feels like I’ve brought the garden inside, and I love it!

Lemons and limes are often a decoration for me and I always use them in the spring and summer. I just love the freshness they bring to the kitchen. I always have a big bunch in a bowl or glass jar. Of course I love it with my blues too! You can see how I used them on this casual tablescape last year here and on my Spring Home Tour here.
If I never used my sink, I’d have a bouquet of flowers hanging over the edge all year round! I love the look and feel they bring to the kitchen…who doesn’t love the signature flowers in the sink?! Can you tell which ones are fake and which ones are real?
My collection of covered etagères has found a somewhat permanent place here on the island. I like to store dishes in it, as well as decorations. Last Christmas I filled them with decorations and ran candles down the middle. They added a beautiful sparkle to this room which was so beautiful, especially lit up at night. It’s also a great look for a centerpiece when you’re entertaining. You can see how I achieved that look here.
I want to thank you all very much for being here today. I hope you enjoyed your stay and found some ideas for your spring decorating this season. Next up on our tour is Mysha from Remington Avenue, she shares some great tips so don’t miss it! Everyone else on yesterday’s and today’s tour is also listed below so be sure to visit everyone, you’ll be very glad you did 🙂 Happy Spring decorating! xo
