Mustard Yellow Living Room Decor – There is a trend that you have recently started to catch on. My love for mustard. It all started a few years ago when my interior decorator brought in these mustard yellow pillows to round out my navy and white bedroom. I didn’t think about the color. Since that day, it has been my passion.
But these days, between buying this high, shooting this scene and coming up with a new sign for my style vita, mustard, yellow/gold, whatever you want to call it, I’m obsessed with it. I lean more towards the mustard gold version of the yellow than the sunny yellow. To me, it’s beautiful and reminds me of copper, a metal I’ve always been drawn to. This color goes with some of my favorite colors like navy and hunter green and violet. It can go casual, boho or modern with ease.

There is no limit to the number of rooms you can add this deep shade of yellow too. I love bathrooms with gold/mustard wallpaper. All whites go well with warm black touches. This shade works well with classic mid-century woods like teak and walnut. My favorite way to wear it is with shades of blue. With hints of green or a hint of blue, it really makes a statement.

If you’re thinking of adding yellow, mustard, etc. to your home, here are some simple things to consider when achieving a color combination.
This combination is one of the most amazing things I have come across for home. But it went really well. Why? Because yellow and purple are perfect complementary colors! It has a fresh spring feel with muted colors. I love the mustard print in the rug paired with the muted lilac curtains and accent piece. The brass rod pulls together the dark walnut wood of the furniture.
Probably my favorite team for sure. These two colors work because they have different complementary colors. By the way, this is my favorite way to think about color combinations for wearing or styling at home. Just go to the color wheel page (personally, I look at the color wheel just to get some ideas!). You can shift a few shades in either direction to draw green/blue and more purple/blue. I love the green of this wall.
You can go to the same family when looking at the color wheel. Choose your color and find some similar colors in similar shades and colors. As for yellow, it’s a shade of orange, and some red as well. Basically, something will heat up. You can add more saturated tones and add berries to go well with this. This bedroom combines everything and has the variety and saturation of yellow and mustard. This is probably my favorite part of today’s post.

The last combination is an easy way to spice up a monochromatic look. This is one of the reasons I really love a nice sofa, you can easily add color! By choosing monochromatic, you can choose completely different colors and color tones. For mustard, you can get gold, walnut, yellow, and even a bit of orange if you can get it right. This bathroom is completely neutral with white beadboard and a porcelain sink.
