Consulting Behavioral Interview Questions To Prepare With
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Most hiring managers make a decision within the first three minutes. When I hire over 50 PMs, I don’t always choose to reject someone on this question, but I reject them a lot.
This is the most powerful way to answer this question. The secret is to ask: What are the weaknesses in my application?
Interviewers are looking at or just looking at your resume while you answer this question. They have created some ideas about the weaknesses in your application. You need to address their perceived weaknesses and highlight your strengths.
The quickest and most objective way to do this is to go back to the job description. Yes, most of them are copycat garbage. However, they are still the best signal source at work.

The position is looking for 6+ years of customer growth experience. However, since the applicant was a consultant prior to his MBA, he has approximately 4.5 years of specific client growth experience. This is the first weakness.
This work is targeting new hardware platforms such as Apple Vision Pro, but PM doesn’t know about them. This is the second weakness.
Finally, Tinder has made progress in the dating space. Interviewers will naturally place more temptations on date applicants. The applicant was not contacted.
The answer we come up with must directly address these three weaknesses. And it should highlight the candidate’s strengths.
Executive Interview Questions To Help Find The Right Fit
Since graduating with my MBA from Duke in 2019, I have worked as a PM at Wayfair and Microsoft. At Microsoft, I had the opportunity to launch Copilot for Teams and present it on stage. I’ve also worked with Teams on multiple hardware devices, including MacOS, Windows, Chromepad, Android, and iOS. I have been a PM in consumer products for four and a half years, but prior to my MBA, I worked as a PM consultant for various consumer products at Deloitte. So my total time as a PM is about 7 years. One of my clients at Deloitte was actually a competitor to Tinder, a large publicly traded company.
This is actually how it affects the rest of the interview process, and you’ve brought up the topic that the interviewer may be weak on your application.
The biggest mistake most candidates make is allowing these weaknesses to linger in the interviewer’s mind. Therefore, all of the interviewer’s follow-up questions are centered around these weaknesses. On the other hand, this framework allows you to lead based on your strengths.
Have you ever asked someone if they wanted something, only to feel indifferent? That’s exactly how you don’t want your interviewer to feel.

I am very excited to take on this role at Spotify. I’ve been using Spotify for over 10 years. I always have ideas about how things can be better. This is because I worked on several side projects in similar positions during college. One of my favorites was song generation with AI. This was a website that implemented Meta’s latest API. Because I have CS experience, I was able to create my own app. And we increased the number of users to 5,000. The fun I’ve had makes me really excited about Spotify’s APM program. I would like to pursue a career in product management. During my software engineering internship at Amazon, I loved working with the PM. It made me realize that this is what I want to do with my career. This is the intersection of my technical, musical and constructive talents.
