This blue and yellow color combination will instantly bring happiness to any room. It’s crunchy. It’s energetic. And soothing at the same time.
Shades of blue to light blue. Instead of pops of bright yellow that look like bright caution lights under the calm of nature, reserved shades of blue really help cool down the vibrancy of the yellow and allow it to blend in with the muted natural colors in these rooms.
Nothing beats the Provence pattern of French country decor, traditionally made of pale blues, warm yellows and lemons. So I love summer infusions

With outdoor gardens at their peak this time of year, there’s nothing more natural than decorating with summer flowers. Plus, they’re an easy way to decorate with almost any color you want (I wish nature made more blue flowers!)
My kitchen island is one of the best places to decorate this season because it’s the first thing you see when you enter this area of the house. For this summer kitchen island centerpiece, I filled a large rustic vase with soft blue and creamy white hydrangeas and summer ferns that make a stunning pop of blue and white when you arrive.
I’m a big fan of the look of real touch hydrangeas – and fake flowers are so much better than fresh flowers.

For summer ferns in southern homes, and I have them on my coffee table and side table.
With the wild popularity of blue and white and chinoiserie, most of us have ginger jars, vases, and other home decorations that make it easy to decorate with blue and white this summer.
For summer coats, I pulled out a blue and white vase from the living room and filled it with my favorite faux greenery.
And these two Chinoiserie glasses became the focal point on the blue and white French striped table on the dining room table.

I usually keep this blue and white long frame in the living room, so I forgot how much I love it. Bending under the air conditioner and watching a movie in the heat outside is a great weight for the summer.
It’s easy to change the photo or photos in the frame. You can make a simple summer print, or create an inexpensive art print with your colors of the season.
Or change the picture like me. I change our set photos for each season. On the last summer tour, the group took pictures of my husband and I on the beach, but this year we all dressed in blue and white for a summer wedding.

If you’re always sitting in the family room and not using the TV, wouldn’t it be nice to look at a picture instead of a big black rectangle?
You don’t need a Samsung Frame TV to turn your TV into a mural. Search for “TV Art” on YouTube and you’ll see lots of beautiful choices. These videos change the frame after a few minutes like a screen saver and the image does not flash on the screen.
When I change the coffee table books, I try to find books in my collection that match the colors I’m decorating for that season. So I pulled out the coffee table books with blue and gold yellow covers. And thank you Southern Living – just the latest issue
I can’t believe I waited until now to try this classic color combination! My experiment using blue and yellow ended up being very simple.

Cheap because I had blue and white decor. Although I don’t have a lot of yellow decorations, using a lemon and kitchen sink was an easy solution to pull off this yellow and blue color scheme.
The kitchen and family room now feel relaxing with blues and fun with yellows – just like summer.
